Cryptocurrency Trading Is Now Bigger Than Stocks in South Korea

Bottom line: Since the US election, South Koreans have traded more crypto than stocks. Regulators worry approving more crypto products will encourage further outflows from the stock market.

My take: English-language content creators focus on the US, which makes sense because it’s the largest financial market and Wall Street holds 25% of the world’s wealth. Let's not forget the power of millions of people in small countries all putting some money into the market at the same time. This boosts the overall market and pushes non-US leaders to reconsider their crypto policies, a matter as important as anything US regulators do.

Why you should care: We don’t want to get so caught up in the US macro or political situation that we forget the global nature of the crypto market.
